As seen on this report from NBC, NASA has decided to take a little tax money and throw it at the moon litteraly. They are taking an unmanned rocket and crashing it into the Moon. I guess for s#@$ and giggles. According to NASA they are searching for water and ice. Here's an idea maybe you can explore 75% of earth. You might just find some here. Or, you can take that $75 Million and buy your own Fiji bottling plant. Aparently Nasa wants to make it's own Smirnoff Ice Commercial. Here's a video from NBC of what it may look like.

HipHopWired.com reported today that Wu-Tang Clan member and rapper Method Man was arrested on charges for tax evasion . Buddy owes about 30,000.00. This is one of many things on his plate. This past year he was also arrested for shooting a lady with a pellet gun. That trial is still pending.

First of all in respects to the victim and his family and friends I will not mention his name but to say that you are all in my thoughts.

As a parent, this story touches very close to home with me. The school where this murder occurred was at the school where possibly one of my children may eventually go to. During the 1st and 2nd period classes In Coral Gables Senior High, 2 boys got into an altercation. Now had this been when my parents were in school I would have seen nothing more harmless than a bloody nose and black eye. In the case of kids today the beef has been taken a step further. The innocence in these children is gone and a lack of moral is evident. One of the boys pulled out a knife and stabbed the other boy 3 times before the boy fell to his death. Although they say this is only the second time in Miami-Dade county history that something like this has happened, there are countless times where problems overflowing from school has caused an altercation where a student has been killed.

My Thoughts

I don't think it is any longer in the best interest of our kids to be friends anymore with them. I think the problem is that the mentality now in days is "kids will be kids, what can we do". I for one love my 3 kids unconditionally. The problem is when you do not discipline them because you feel bad about punishing them or you don't want to be a bad guy. From my experiences growing up I learned the old school method of disciplining, a good ol' fashion ass whooping. Not to make light of the situation but had their parents possibly been a little more involved, an altercation like this may not have happened. I understand that you cannot be around your children 24/7 however if you compare the amount of hours in school to the amount of hours you are normally with your children; you are basically with them 80% of the week. In other words there is no excuse for letting things slip. You are allowed to be nosey and invade privacy because you are their guardian. Take the initiative and be a hawk. Not for you but for your children’s sake. These are our children and our future and we should be obsessed about them. Now I cannot honestly say that this situation would have been avoided 100% if the parents were on top of them, but there is a greater chance that nothing would have happened than would. Not all kids respond the same but at least you will be aware if your child is one of them.

Ok so to most this is old news by now. But I had to let my voice be heard again. Kanye you are a Heartless man. Grow some and come back later. On sunday night during the MTV music awards, which I'm sure we can all agree is rigged, Taylor Swift, a young country star, won Female Music Video of the year. Kanye "cry baby" West felt it necessary to voice his opinion at the wrong F'n time. Taylor was supposed to enjoy the moment of recieving her first VMA award when this guy takes the mic from her and yells to the crowd that Beyonce had the best video. Now all though Beyonce did later win video of the year, he could'nt just sit and wait. And don't blame the Henni, never blame the Henni. I don't see anything amazing about 3 girls dancing in front of a white wall anyways. Look I'm not against anywone voicing there opinion, but theres a time and place for everything. Taking the moment away from a 19 year old girl did not win you any cool points Ye. Infact you may have now lost the biggest demographic of your supporters, white teenage girls. There goes about 75% of your record sales good job "Jackass" as Obama named you. I'm pretty sure if Pink, had won the award you would of thought twice about approaching that podium. And all those "appologies", save it. You can't fool anyone. Tell your PR to stop whispering in your ear and grow up. I did'nt like you before and well we can see how I feel about you now.

TMZ.com reports that former Green/White/Red/Black Power Ranger Jason David Frank is attempting to enter the octogon! Frank has just aquired a new managment team in hopes of fighting in the UFC in the near future. At 35 years old, he is a tad older than the average rookie, but with his black belt background and ability to get an audience of 20-somethings (if only for the "Power Ranger in UFC" curiosity), I actually wouldn't be shocked to see him signed to a fight.

No fights have been announced yet, sadly. We do have video of his televised muay thai fight debut below. enjoy!

Cornerback Pacman Jones, released by the Dallas Cowboys in February, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL.

"It'll be a good experience for me to get back in game shape and compete and play football, which I like to do," Jones told SI.com, which first reported the story. "I'm real happy for the opportunity that's been given to me. Of course it's disappointing to me to not be playing in the NFL. But things happen and you have to adjust."

Jones

Jones, 25, chose the CFL over the inaugural United Football League, Jones' agents told SI.com. One of the factors was money -- contract details were not immediately known -- but Jones also will be able to play on both sides of the ball in the CFL, which still has 10 weeks remaining in its season. The four teams in the UFL will be playing a six-game schedule beginning in October.

"He's still young and has a lot of playing days ahead of him," Jones' attorney, Worrick Robinson, said. "If the CFL deal works out, it will be a good opportunity for him to get back on the field and show what he can do."

The Cowboys acquired Jones from the Tennessee Titans during the draft in April 2008, after he was suspended by the league for the entire 2007 season following multiple off-field incidents while with the Titans.

But during the 2008 season, Jones was suspended for six games by the NFL after getting into an alcohol-related scuffle in October with a team-provided bodyguard at a Dallas hotel. He spent part of that suspension in an alcohol rehabilitation program.

Mike and Mike in the Morning
ESPN.com senior NFL analyst John Clayton thinks if Adam Jones plays well in the CFL, he could get another shot in the NFL, but he's got a lot of work to do to make that happen. Plus, Clayton comments on Brandon Marshall, Chan Gailey and Osi Umenyiora.

More Podcasts »

Expected to give the Cowboys a boost on defense and special teams, Jones had 31 tackles and no interceptions in his nine games (six of them starts). He averaged only 4.5 yards on 21 punt returns, with a long of 18 yards.

Before going to Dallas, Jones was arrested six times and involved in 12 instances requiring police intervention after Tennessee drafted him in the first round in 2005.

Robinson said there had been discussions with "a number of NFL teams" and there had been hopes Jones would be brought into a training camp. No offers were made, however, leaving the CFL as the next best opportunity for Jones to regain his footing.

"Another equation for NFL teams is what his conduct will be off the field and on the field," Robinson said. "It is a good opportunity for him to show the teams in the NFL that he has matured, that he's concentrating on the game and concentrating on his family and trying to leave the past in the past."

John Murphy, Winnipeg's director of player personnel, called the acquisition of Jones a "win-win" situation on and off the field, according to SI.com.

"From a marketing standpoint, a business standpoint and a football standpoint, I could go to 100 NFL training camps and every preseason game and more people will hear and know about the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the next two weeks -- from the coverage we'll receive -- than in the last 10 years," he told SI.com.

"If I was in the same position in the NFL I might have a lot more reservations," Murphy added, according to SI.com. "... There isn't a better football player who's not in the NFL, at 25 years old, who's ready to play football, is going to play with a chip on his shoulder, and is going to bring some fun and excitement to our team, our locker room, our city, and our league."

Disney is buying Marvel Comics in a $4 billion deal. Do you know what this means? Goodbye X-Men, hello Buzz Lightyear Agent of Shield. Many people are saying that this will do wonders for Marvel by giving them a better opportunity for licensing games, toys, movies, and a theme park, but wait a second they already have a countless video game titles, a movie studio, and a park at Universal Studios. As fan boy, all I have to say is please God let this be some cruel joke. If Disney buys Marvel’s 5000 + characters you can kiss Frank Castle goodbye. Do you really think that Disney would allow such a bad ass to live in their happy-go-lucky world? They’d probably let him be taken out by Mickey Mouse in a Disney shoot out. Thank God that the share holders still have to vote for this abomination to go through, but I say screw the share holders, what do the fans have to say. Here is just one thought:
“Disney doesn't just equal kiddie fair, it equals child slave labour, homophobia, sexism, racism, and a mess of other things. Diney isn't one of the 5 biggest companies in the world becuase they play nice and have ethical business practices.” Crevanfox from http://community.livejournal.com/the_hostel/266917.html
Let just say that I hope I don’t see a New Mutants movie staring the Jones Brothers.

FSR--As you probably know by now, the big entertainment news of the day is The Walt Disney Company buying Marvel Entertainment. Shortly after the $4 billion dollar deal was announced, a shareholder conference call was held to explain some of the details. If you didn’t have a chance to sit through the call yourself, don’t worry, as we’ve got you covered. Below you will find our quick guide to what is going on — based on the information we have in front of us.

1. Disney has an “If it ain’t broke…” viewpoint toward Marvel Studios. Walt Disney President Bob Iger said specifically that Disney will have an “if it ain’t broke…” attitude when it comes to the future of Marvel films. All of the creative control — including use of 3D, which characters will get movies, etc — will remain in the hands of the people who know the Marvel Universe best: the people at Marvel. Sure, this might change down the road, but the initial sentiment is that Disney does not intend to come in and take control of Marvel’s creative world.

2. All previous deals are still in place. Paramount is still going to distribute up to five more Marvel Studios films, including Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, Iron Man 2 and The Avengers. The also could still distribute an Ant-Man movie. As well, there are still existing deals in which other studios hold the cinematic rights to certain characters. Those are not changing. So Spider-Man is staying at Sony, X-Men is staying with Fox, and so on. Disney intends to bring those characters back in-house at some point, but there’s no indication that it will be happening anytime soon.

3. John Lasseter has met with Marvel about a Pixar team-up. Executives stated that not only has John Lasseter, the man behind Pixar and now Disney Animation, already met with the folks at Marvel, but that they were also so excited that they had to be told to calm down. The meaning here is simple: something is brewing between Marvel and Pixar, and there’s no way that can be a bad thing.

4. Disney is a brand machine. From a film marketing standpoint — and for that matter, a brand marketing standpoint — Disney is a powerhouse. Pirate of the Caribbean, the films of Pixar and all the way down to television with shows such as Lost via their ownership of ABC, Disney knows how to sell a brand. And selling the Marvel brand means more Marvel fans, more recognition in the mainstream and for those of us keeping score, more money down the road to make Marvel movies.

5. Disney backing means Marvel budgets. Disney is a smart company. During the conference call they said, in effect, that their goal is to shine a brighter light on Marvel. Which likely means marketing dollars, added funding for development and (hopefully) increased marketshare. With big Daddy Disney backing them up financially, Marvel will be able to operate at a higher level. Assuming creative control stays the same (which appears to be the case), Marvel fans can only count on more of what they love from their favorite brand.

6. A lot of details are yet to be hashed out. One very important thing to keep in mind is that there will be a great gestation period here. Marvel Entertainment has a lot of existing deals — theme parks, movie distribution, etc. — and all of those contract will be honored by Disney. It will take them a long time to reign in the Marvel Universe and obtain full creative control.

As you can see, there are good intentions all around — Disney doesn’t want to screw up their $4 billion dollar purchase, so its likely that they will let the highly profitable Marvel Studios do their thing. The questions don’t arise until far down the line, when Disney begins to take back the rights to Marvel characters. How will they handle these franchises? How many movies will they release per year? All of these questions are yet to be answered, and may not be answered for a long time. At this point, all we can say is that this deal appears to be a good one for Marvel.

Paramount Pictures had the following to say via press release today:

“Paramount Pictures has enjoyed a productive and fruitful relationship with Marvel Studios from the start of our distribution agreement in 2005,” the statement began. “So much so, we announced a five-picture slate distribution deal last year which includes worldwide distribution rights for upcoming films: Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, Avengers, and Iron Man 3. This distribution deal will be unaffected by today’s transaction. We look forward to continuing to work with Marvel and, with today’s announcement, to working with Disney to replicate the incredible success of Iron Man on all our future collaborative projects.”

Looks like all is well in the love triangle of Marvel/Paramount/Disney. All three have nothing to lose and everything to gain by seeing Marvel’s movies churn out a profit, so I would suspect that they will all play nice until the contract is up.

(CNN) -- Hurricane experts are throwing cold water on an idea backed by billionaire Microsoft founder Bill Gates aimed at controlling the weather.

Gates and a dozen other scientists have raised eyebrows by submitting patent applications for a technology to reduce the danger of approaching hurricanes by cooling ocean temperatures.

It's a noble idea, given the horrible memories from Hurricane Katrina, which slammed into the Gulf Coast four years ago this week.

The storm, which rated a frightening Category 3 when it made landfall in Louisiana, was blamed for $81 billion in damaged and destroyed property and the deaths of more than 1,800 men, women and children.

Skeptics applaud the motive of the concept but question its feasibility.

"The enormity of it, in order to do something effective, we'd have to do something at a scale that humans have never really done before," said Gabriel Vecchi, a research scientist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

How exactly would this hurricane-zapping technology work?

Hurricanes are fueled by warm water, and cooling the waters surrounding a storm would slow a storm's momentum.

According to the patents, many tub-like barges would be placed directly in the path of an oncoming storm. Each barge would have two conduits, each 500 feet long.

One conduit would push the warm water from the ocean's surface down. The other would bring up cold water where it lies deep undersea.

World reknowned hurricane expert William Gray, who's been studying and predicting the storms for a half-century, also doubts whether the proposal would work.

"The problem is the storms come up so rapidly," said Gray, a professor of atmospheric science at Colorado State University. "You only get two to three days warning. It's very difficult to bring up enough cold water in two to three days to have much effect."

The idea itself isn't groundbreaking, according to Gray, who said it could only be feasible if the barges were put into place at the beginning of hurricane season with the idea that storms will come.

"But you might do all that, and perhaps no storms would come. That's an economic problem," Gray said.

Even if the technology does work, Gray said it won't completely halt a hurricane.

"There is no way to stop it. The storm might weaken in the center, but the outer areas wouldn't be affected much."

And flooding and storm surges are determined by these outer winds, Gray said.

When word of Gates' five patent applications first made headlines in July, alarmed bloggers lit up the Internet, expressing fears that playing with ocean temperatures could lead to catastrophe, possibly forcing a storm in a different direction.

That's not likely, said Kerry Emanuel, a professor in atmospheric sciences at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

"You're doing something to the ocean that the hurricane would have done anyway," Emanuel said.

Cold water that churns up during a storm slows down a hurricane naturally. But the coldest water is usually at the rear of the storm, so sometimes it's too late to weaken [the storm], Emanuel said.

"The key is doing it a little sooner than the storm itself does it and make [the hurricane] weaker than it would have been," he said. "There are enough experiments to find out whether hurricanes' natural cooling could steer the storm in a different location, and the answer is no, or it's a very small chance."

While Emanuel believes the physics are conceivable, he says the cost of implementing the system shouldn't outweigh the benefit.

"This would only be practical if the amount [of money] you spend doing this would be less than the damage caused by the hurricane," Emanuel said.

Gates and scientist Ken Caldeira, both listed as inventors on the patents, did not respond to CNN's requests to comment about their venture.

The patents, which were only made public last month by the U.S. Patent and Trade Office, were filed in January by Searete LLC. The company is a subsidiary of Intellectual Ventures, an invention firm run by Microsoft's former chief technology officer Nathan Myhrvold.

A spokeswoman for Intellectual Ventures, which holds about 27,000 technology patents, didn't elaborate on the cost associated with the patent.

"At this point, there are no plans for deployment, so there is no talk of funding," she said, adding that it could take up to 18 months for the patent application to be approved.

Regardless, inventors say that this technology is not something they'll be rushing to use anytime soon.

"This type of technology is not something humankind would use as a 'Plan A' or 'Plan B,'" Paul "Pablos" Holman, an inventor in the Intellectual Ventures laboratory, wrote on the company blog.

"These inventions are a 'Plan C,' where humans decide that we've exhausted all our behavior changing and alternative energy options and need to rely on mitigation technologies. If our planet is in this severe situation, then our belief is that we should not be starting from scratch at investigating mitigation options."

Hurricane expert Gray agrees.

"I don't think this is anything that's going to be done in the next few decades in a practical sense, but maybe further down the line," Gray said. "I would love to see Bill Gates, with all his money, use some of it to experiment."

OK here we go. Why in the blue hell is this even being made? Really. xXx was one of Diesel's worst movies and Diesel's movies suck. This is just another movie with his non-acting skills. Vin Diesel wouldn't know acting if it walked up to him and beat the crap out of him. So lets reward that with another movie?

Well atleast in a few years he'll be old as hell and the 14 to 18 girls that watch his movies will stop going to them and end this madness. For those of you looking for a picture like I normally post up with all my posts, I refuse to waste space on my sites unlimited storage space with his picture.

Empire has this on this crap in the making.

The Return of Xander Cage, whose death in the second film was clearly some kind of, like, ruse rather than an inconvenience to be brushed aside to keep the franchise going, sees Diesel's extreme sports enthusiast turned government agent return to the NSA eight years on. And, er, that's all we got. But we are willing to put money down now on things EXPLODING and GOING FAST and PEOPLE JUMPING OFF HIGH THINGS. We're a little bit psychic that way.

Core previously worked with Diesel when he was cinematographer on The Fast & The Furious, and turned to directing a few years back with Mark Wahlberg / NFL drama Invincible. He steps in to fill Rob Cohen's shoes after the latter abandoned the franchise he created to go and direct Medieval.

I hope this movie has the box office sales that the Dragon Ball movie had=)

Is it fate? or just bad luck. Lets take a trip back to last season. The Chief's defence takes out Tom Brady in game one of the season. The a young upstart Matt Cassel takes his place. Matt goes on to have a all start season. Matt ends up on the team that helped give him his break. Now fate cashed in that favor, because Cassel has gone down.

Yahoo Sports has this post about the down player.

When Matt Cassel hobbled to the trainer's room Saturday, the air was sucked out of Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs' most heralded offseason acquisition was injured, and the pattern of 2008 seemed to be repeating itself.

Chiefs officials weren't spilling much about what ails their starting quarterback, only that he had injured a leg and wouldn't return to their exhibition against the Seahawks.

Writing for the Kansas City Star, Kent Babb put it this way:

"Cassel's injury was something Kansas City couldn't afford. He was more valuable than the $28 million guaranteed contract he signed two months ago—he was the future. Cassel was supposed to be the quarterback the Chiefs had waited decades for. And even if he couldn't become Len Dawson, then he at least wouldn't be Brodie Croyle or Damon Huard."

Word could come Sunday that would render this handwringing moot, but the mood in KC went from bad to worse when Cassel went down.

For the record, Cassel was tackled from behind by Seahawks defensive tackle Brandon Mebane. He clutched his left leg while down. After struggling to get back to the huddle, Cassel called time out and limped off the field.

Tyler Thigpen replaced Cassel and could wind up as the Chiefs' Week 1 starter if Cassel's injury KO's him.

NY Post-- DJ AM , the celebrity club disc jockey known for dating starlets, collecting hundreds of sneakers and surviving a horrific plane crash -- was found dead an apparent overdose in his SoHo apartment today, police said.

Cops found prescription drug bottles inside DJ AM's residence at 210 Lafayette St. after the 36-year-old's lifeless body spotted face-down in his bed at around 5:23 p.m. by a friend, who was concerned he hadn't heard from the performer in several days, sources said.

Emergency medical workers responding to a 911 call from the friend declared DJ AM dead at the scene. No foul play is suspected.

DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, had twittered recently that he had finished wrapping up an MTV reality show about drug addiction.

Prescription drugs and a crack pipe were found at the scene. Bottles of pills were found in both the bedroom and the kitchen. He was wearing sweatpants and no shirt.

Friends of the disc jockey gathered outside his apartment tonight, hugging each other. They declined to speak with reporters.

The Philadelphia native, whose real name was Adam Michael Goldstein, was a former member of the band Crazy Town, which scored the smash rap-rock hit "Butterfly" in 2001.

His work behind turntables in hotspots around the world paid him up to $25,000 or more per night -- helping fund what became a collection of more than 1,000 sneakers.

DJ AM had high-profile romances with Nicole Richie, to whom he was once engaged, as well as with actress Mandy Moore.

Last September 19, DJ AM and former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker were badly burned in the crash of a private plane in South Carolina that killed four other people on-board. The plane crashed as it headed down the runway during takeoff.

Barker's ex-wife, Playmate Shanna Moakler, responded to news of DJ AM's death on Twitter, writing, "My deepest condolences for DJ AM, you were a great artist and will be severely missed. My thoughts and Prayers to his family and friends."

Justin Hoffman, a Las Vegas resident who was a friend of the performer, broke down into to tears as he told The Post how DJ AM "reached out to me four years ago, saved my life. I was dying, I was suicidal, and was down to maybe 130 pounds."

"He reached out to me, talked to me for hours," Hoffman said. "He'd be there every single time I would call. He would be there no matter situation, he would answer calls at 5:30 in the morning. He just want to help people out."

"We all love him and miss him," said DJ AM's close friend, New York nightclub entrepreneur Mike Satsky.

Samathan Ronson, another celebrity DJ, tweeted to a friend, "Waiting for someone to say this isn't true."

Guitar virtuoso John Mayer tweeted, "We're supposed to lose our friends to time, at an age when we're ready to agree to the terms of having lived a long life. Not now."

Lindsay Lohan wrote, "i can't believe this ... I'm in shock. why? why? r.i.p. adam."

In his own last post on Twitter, dated Tuesday, DJ AM quoted a Grandmaster Flash song: "New York, New York. Big city of dreams, but everything in New York ain't always what it seems."

He was scheduled to have deejayed at Dusk in Atlantic City on Tuesday and then tonight at Rain in Las Vegas.

In a 2007 interview with the New York Times, DJ AM admitted to having begun seriously abusing crack cocaine in his early 20s. But he said he had been sober for the past nine years and had even recently given up smoking.

"All that's left is caffeine," he told the paper.
